i use to be told that i was named after “the first person born in America on my moms side of the family”. i have recently learned that Charlotte St. Julien was the reason my moms family, the Ravenels, trekked to the United States…One of the two Ravenel brothers followed his love, Charlotte St Julien across the world…because she was escaping religious persecution and he couldn’t be with out her.
